I’m getting ready to choose a monitor for my Spark. But before I do I would like to clarify:
Are there any plans to eventually have camera control directly from an external monitor? And if so, are you already considering or talking to any particular companies?
I’d love to get a monitor that could eventually do more than just display the image.
Also, a Q to the community: What are you guys currently using to monitor your Spark? How well is the monitor display matching the footage? Please shoot out any recommendations!
I do think this would be a long way down the road if it ever happens. Right now most of us are just hoping that on screen overlays will be implemented soon. All we have now is an image on our external monitors and relying on the monitor to offer functionality such as focus peaking.
From what I’ve read so far here and from my own experience, the image to the monitor is pretty good, but can be very contrasty… Shadow details are fairly dark.
IMHO, I would go for the brightest monitor possible as you would probably want to work outdoors in the brightest conditions with a camera like this.
