It’s update time — and honestly, this one I’ve been waiting a long time to write.
Today, a small pilot run of units (after confirmation with backers) shipped out from the factory to Hong Kong and are now in the hands of our logistics partner. As a startup, international shipping and export documentation has been new territory for us — we’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit getting the paperwork right. But they’re moving. But now, things are finally moving. This is no longer a plan or a promise — it’s a fact.
We expect to have DHL tracking numbers available by next eraly week.
This small batch is heading to the United States, Germany, Japan, and Austria. We chose these four regions intentionally — we want to test the reliability of our shipping pipeline across different parts of the world before we scale up. Estimated delivery is 3–5 business days from dispatch, though the actual delivery timeline may vary depending on customs clearance procedures in the destination country.
Starting next week, our support team will begin sending confirmation emails to more backers to verify shipping addresses and add-ons. When you receive that email, please reply as quickly as you can — your response is what allows us to lock in your shipment and get everything prepared on our end. Because each destination has different requirements, we handle shipments individually, which does take time. To improve efficiency, we are also onboarding three additional team members dedicated to this process.
We know many of you have been waiting for a long time. So have we — in a different way. Seeing the first units leave the factory today is a moment we won’t forget anytime soon.
More updates coming next week, including tracking numbers and further progress. Have a great weekend, everyone.
CONGRATS!!! My question is: Why wait the day before to send those confirmation emails? IMO the firsts 100 backers should already have received this email for a smooth shipping schedule without any delay/bypass.
What an incredible moment and achievement this is for your team… Yes, time waits for no one… You have much more left to accomplish, Yet please take a moment to pause and reflect on the journey each and every one of your team has been on to make this moment happen.
You have accomplished what none of us in this community has or likely will do… Bring a fully fledged product to market and begun deliveries!
Thanks again for helping us capture the future in real time!
This is great news! For any USA backers who get their cameras first, please give an update on if you were hit with any surprise import duties, taxes or tariffs when your package arrives. Much appreciated.
YAY! Congrats and great job!!! Congrats to the first backers as well! How many units shipped in the test run? If the picture is all of them, looks like 10! Congrats again!
Can I ask if the team has received my email regarding picking up instead of shipping? I have a complicated travel schedule soon for the next 7 to 8 weeks and have staff that could arrange for pickup in Shenzhen instead of delivery.
YAY! So much closer to having them in our hands this is exciting.
It looks like 10 units where shipped out, how many should we expect next shipment? I know in a little over a week I’ll be on a project that for a week I may have limited access to email so hoping the confirmation emails go out beforehand. What email should we make sure we look out for?
I mostly ask as timing puts it close for my June project I’ll be traveling for that wants to now rent a high speed camera and are interested in the spark. I know earlier I was told I’d be in the first shipment after having to adjust the pledge due to the late vip email and havent received an email so I’m assuming that this is more of a test batch wave and first shipment wave is next (or did I miss the email?)
Just trying to make sure I don’t miss the email and can have someone be avalible for delivery when the time comes.
Thanks again for the update and its exciting seeing every step of progress as we get closer!
Would you be comfortable sharing how many units you already have in stock and what is your current production rate? I think many backers would be interested to estimate potential arrivals based on their order.
Thanks @SwissArmyCinema! You should not run into any surprise fees per the Pixboom team, but it would be good to know for sure from USA customers firsthand.
I will note that my extra lens mounts are getting shipped separately in mid-June instead of all together (since they don’t fit in the packaging), so I’ll have to wait to see how the native EF and PL mounts are. My extra SSD is being included in this shipment, however.
Keep us up to date, very curious to see how the e mount adapter preforms with electronics. Looking forward to putting mine to use with the 200-600 for wildlife
