i had the situation today that a mag was full and i tried to munt it to my mac book pro via your usb c cable. Now there came an error message of the mac that it cpuld not be read and not mounted. What shall i do? The clips are playing well on camera but i cant read it on the mac.
ok sorry - unmounted it several times and now its working…
Oh wow, this is kind of concerning. Please let us know if it happens again. Hopefully, it was just your Mac acting up and not the SSD itself. But knowing that it was playing fine in camera, it was probably just your Mac.
im also having issues getting both of my drives to mount to my macbook. they come up in disk utility but wont mount no matter what. am i missing something?

No. The drive displays in disk utility but is unable to mount in any way. I’ve tried every cable and configuration.
Do we need to format these drives on Mac before using? I’m stuck because I have clips I have on them that I need but also no current access to windows machine.
Do we need to use usb c cable to power the drive as well as data usb c port? I see no users online using the “power” usb port on their drive and no mention of it in the manual.
Hopefully @admin chimes in. I would think reformatting it should do the trick, but not entirely sure.
Not to ask the obvious, but if you control+click on the drive in disk utility, you don’t get the option to mount it? I’ve had that issue before where a drive doesn’t mount (the Ember did this to me) and I can see it in disk utility, but I didn’t know I could control+click and get a mount option in the options box.
I only plugged in my SSDs with the one cable (not using the power port) for my offloads. If both drives aren’t working, that suggests an issue on the Macbook side with it not giving permission to mount.
yeah, it’s greyed out and you can’t interact with it in disk utility in any way besides “ejecting” it in which case it stays visible and greyed out but the two lights on the drive go off until I remount it (even though it’s not mountable…)
agreed that because both drives don’t mount it seems to be on my computer side but I’ve never had any issues in the past and as far as I know everything is set to default settings. I’ll know more when I can get access to a PC I guess.
