Do you mind sharing the link to it?
You probably missed it because you didn’t join the Kickstarter, so here it is:

It’s pretty long, but it’s very informative, and the results look pretty impressive.
Thanks for linking it! Will take a look.
I already saw that video back a few months ago. It’s hard to judge the 2K quality based off the stream. Was hoping for more 2K RAW footage from the final software. The 2K stuff I’ve seen in the gallery from the older firmware still has a lot of aliasing/moire issues.
Hi,
could we know if the update that was expected by the end of last week is ready?
Best regards
I’m curious too. What’s troubling is that the Pixboom team regularly fails to meet the deadlines it sets for itself.
Totally fair point—our timeline hasn’t been reliable enough, and that’s frustrating to us too!
For this round, a few parts for our second pilot run weren’t ready, so we had to shift. We’re aiming to kick off main unit assembly Wed–Fri this week and we’ll update the group with progress and the next confirmed dates.
We’re putting stricter checks in place to avoid repeats (supplier readiness + internal build gates).
Hi, thanks for checking in — and sorry the update wasn’t ready by the end of last week.
Because we were missing a few necessary components, we couldn’t confirm the schedule sooner. We’re now planning to officially start the assembly build between Wednesday and Friday this week, and I’ll share an update as soon as assembly kicks off (with the next key milestones).
Also, my request for more 2K footage has been ignored and delayed for a while now. I’ve already seen the ones in the gallery and quite frankly it’s not enough 2K RAW footage for me to make a decision.
:(
By assembly builds, are you referring to the 2nd pilot assemblies or are those completed and you’re referring to the First full run of bodies.
I think for you @pixboo it’s best to just wait for the camera to be officially released and see how us guinea pigs do with the first run of real world testing. The Pixboom team seem to have other priorities than showing us footage. (Trust me I would feel better if they would however, I do understand they have bigger things to do right now)… For me regular and often updates even small ones are more important.
It’s been a journey watching this product come to life and I really do hope it’s successful otherwise the $10k I spent upfront is going to make my wife angry lol.
@pixboo Hope you get a Spark soon tho!
What kind of footage do you want/need to see?
I understand. It’s too late now since the preorder price is no longer available and there’s no way I’m paying $13.999 for it. I’ve seen some used Freefly Embers go for $8000 - $10000 I think if I’m not mistaken a few times so I’d rather wait. If they had more RAW 2K examples available when they had the early bird special at $7499, I would’ve bought. But now I’m just hoping I can get lucky and get one used if a kind soul would sell it at the early bird price. I know I probably won’t but I’m gonna try anyway. You never know.
Just any 2K and 4K RAW samples especially with fine detail. I want to see how aliasing and moire is in the image since there is no OLPF filter installed.
@pixboo You do understand how capitalism works right? … That would be one very kind soul to let you have it at a early adopter price…
Hopefully you find one, however for me to have put up cash early, cash I could have made easily 25% margin on by now… That camera has to earn its keep or it’s getting shoved out the nest at the highest price someone will pay for it. Other wise I just have a very expensive hobby and not a business.
Sometimes the risk is worth the reward, and sometimes its not… I just really hope the camera is in my hands and most bugs are worked out by June since I have a wildlife project to shoot in Kenya already setup.
Yes, I do know how capitalism works! Lol I’ve just been lucky in the past before so willing to shoot my shot even if it takes time. If not, I’ll just have to go another route.
I hope you get it soon too and have a fun shoot in Kenya!
Would love to see your shots when you get it!
First to shoot normally is the first to score… So might as well…
I sincerely hope that the first 300 units will be delivered by the middle of April. Because January was the first date for delivery, but a lot has passed since then. It’s a little irritating that the constant delay, even my wife has been asking me for days when my camera will arrive.
I hope you guys get your cameras soon!
Thank you so much for your patience and for sharing your concerns with us. We completely understand your frustration, especially since the original delivery estimate was January, and we know the continued delays have been disappointing.
We want to be as transparent as possible: based on our current production and shipping progress, the actual delivery is likely to begin sometime between early April and mid-April, rather than all within mid-April. After that, we expect to continue shipping in batches, with all Spark units for backers scheduled to be fulfilled progressively by June.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support throughout this process. We know waiting is not easy, and we are doing our best to move things forward as quickly and smoothly as possible. Thank you again for staying with us.
