'$1 Pixel Purchasing Power Challenge'——Dynamic Update

Hi guys,

I’m excited to share an interesting thread here: $1 Pixel Purchasing Power Challenge. The idea is simple—how many pixels can you buy for just one dollar? It’s a fun and slightly geeky way to analyze the cost-effectiveness of cameras, especially when comparing devices with different price points and feature sets.

This is going to be a dynamic update post, and I plan to update it in the following order:

  1. RED, Sony
  2. Canon, Nikon
  3. Fujifilm, Hasselblad
  4. BMD
  5. Z CAM, Kinefinity
  6. Freefly, Kron Tech

For each brand, I’ll pick representative models. If there’s a specific model or brand you’d like me to include, feel free to reply and let me know!

Big thanks to @Mason for the suggestion!

Great start! It looks like the Komodo is quite a bargain (thanks to the recent big price drop).

Update Log:

  1. Added the Canon and nikon.

  1. Added the Fujifilm, Hasselblad.

P.S. The X2D 100C cannot shoot video; it uses burst shooting speed as an alternative calculation.

  1. Added the Blackmagic Design

Just as we thought, BMD truly is a beast, transforming the video industry.
