Got in as backer number 9, and had a little confusion I wanted to ask about just for clarity.
1. The $500 discount I paid $100 for didn’t show up during the pledge process, but WILL be applied if the project is funded and my card is charged? Is that how it works?
2. Even though the package includes a 2.5 TB drive and multi-format camera mount, it asked if I wanted to add those during checkout. I assume that was only if you want a second hard drive. I was confused by the option for a second mount? Is only one mount type included? I got the impression from the description that E/PL/EF mounts were included in the package.
3. In a previous topic I posted asking about tariffs, you mentioned a $75 option to cover any U.S. tariff amount but I didn’t see that as an add on or separate item in the pledge. Do we pay that later?
Thanks for a mostly smooth process (other than the incorrectly posted start time, which you did promptly respond to!) these are just 3 questions I didn’t feel 100% clear on.
The $500 discount link should have been emailed out to you. It will reveal a hidden KS tier that includes the discount in the pricing.
The wording on the mounts was confusing and I had to read it twice to see that you only get one mount (with options of E/PL/EF) that will be determined when you fill out your survey. If you want more than the one mount, you have to buy the add-on.
If you click on the “Worldwide Shipping” tab on the left of the campaign, it’ll jump you down to the shipping info which says: “We ship to major countries and regions worldwide. Shipping fees (including shipping, customs, and taxes) are: USD $75 USA (excluding remote areas such as Hawaii and Alaska, and military bases).” So no need to select an option for that, as it’s part of the standard shipping.
Thanks so much for that. The mount wording was definitely confusing. I likely only need one mount anyway and have metabones to connect to any other lenses I’d ever use.
Somehow I didn’t realize I had to use a special link to redeem my discount and am probably screwed. I’d remembered reading something about the Kickstarter account email needing to match the email address I purchased the discount under (which it does.) Can an admin tell me what to do at this point? Do I have to lose my spot #9 on the backer list, cancel my order, find the old email and re-purchase at the higher current backer number?

Discount:Please confirm you pledged using thesecret perk link. If so, the price you saw is correct and already includes the $500 discount. Your card will only be charged after the campaign ends on Oct 16.
Add-ons:Your perk includes one Spark, one 2.5TB card, and your choice of one adapter. The checkout options are only for buyingadditionalitems.
$75 Fee:This fee covers both shipping and U.S. tariffs. It’s part of your total pledge and will be charged with everything else after Oct 16.

Hi, no problem, we can fix this. Please follow these steps:
Step 1:Cancel your current pledge.
Step 2:Find the email with yoursecret perk link.
Step 3:Use that link to make a new pledge immediately.
While you will get a new backer number, re-pledging now will secure your discount and, most importantly, ensure you are still in the first shipment group. Please do this as soon as you can.
This is so frustrating. I also never received an email with a different link. All I got was a confirmation email with a link to an optional private group and acknowledging receipt of my $100 for the $500 discount. I tried so hard to be an early supporter of your camera, refreshing my screen for half an hour at your advertised 9am EST start time only to learn you’d changed it to PDT when I’d scheduled a meeting. I rushed through the backer form on Kickstarter as the meeting started to at least secure slot number 9.
You guys are understandably busy and it’s taken a day and a half for this initial reply, but I don’t have and never received the discount link you mentioned. It seems very likely that I’m going to now lose my spot because of failures to make this pre Kickstarter bonus clear to some of us while we go back and forth on this here. It is definitely giving me pause that the burden of this problem is being laid at the feet of an initially enthusiastic project supporter.

I did want to say that Daisy from Pixboom reached out to me via email, got me my link and with just a little back and forth trying a couple things we did get my pledge changed to reflect the discount price I’d paid for a couple weeks ago. Daisy was very patient and helpful! It gives me some encouragement that the company is one who will be good to us in both the short and long term.
