Hey Everyone! I run a robot rental company in LA and we’re getting asked about our first Pixboom robot job.
Is there an SDK we can browse to see if we can integrate it into our Bolt software? What kind of protocol for remote control is possible? Is there a way to play back the clips over ethernet or even USB-C?
If anyone wants to take this topic off this thread, send me an email buddy@LAcinemarobotics.com
I know there have been several robot guys asking about this type of thing over the months. I’m not sure there’s ever been a good answer regarding this. I’m guessing the forthcoming PC/Mac control over Wi-Fi will address some of this, but I’m not sure if there’s been a timeline or indication of priority for getting that functional.
they responded to me that they are providing one but no schedule yet. you could wire to the trigger pins from the plc of the robot for now
Great topic. For anyone interested in remote control SDK integration, what features would you need most?
For example: remote record start/stop, basic camera settings, playback, etc.
Feel free to share your workflow needs here.
The biggest thing for the bolt is to have accurate run stop to the frame even at 1000fps. We often sync up the runstop dealy with the Bolt dealy and use a Phantom as a proper time measurement device to help calibrate slow motion moves. So having remote playback that I can see the frame numbers to help with timing of fast camera moves is the most important for me.
I would also like a limit recording time feature. So you can set a limit to record only 3 seconds at a time similar to a phantom partition, it will prevent people from forgetting to press stop or having to get too close to the robot when it might not be safe to.
