Yea prefer the Nanuks. Where do you get your laser cut?
I havenāt gotten mine laser cut yet, but IIRC you can send Nanuk specs to have them do custom laser cutting for you. I think there are other places where you can get custom laser cut inserts for various cases, but I havenāt looked into that yet.
Itās been quite a few years since I had it done, but I had a custom cut foam interior made for some lenses from mycasebuilder.com. I was able to design it all exactly to my liking and was very happy with the quality.
I wonder if I create a model in cad, can I just use my engraver with the treadmill attachment to laser cut a foam insert
⦠I bet I would have to do it in three sections but it could work.
If you give it a try let us know, there might be quite a few others who would be interested in alternatives for custom cutting foam inserts for hard cases; the pick 'n pluck ones are easy to customize once, but they do gradually fall apart under use..
I know Iāll be giving it a try as well, though when will be the question. Want to test the camera out a bit and find out all what I want to keep in my case. Until then padded dividers in a 1510 for adjustability.
Well, we may not have gotten our update by the end of last week, but I do see Pixboom will be at NAB with a production ready body. Hopefully we get some interviews and hands-on looks.
It all sounds good, but Iām starting to get a bit impatient waiting for my Spark. The original estimate was January 2026 ā I understand that might have been optimistic. But itās almost May now, and we still havenāt seen a single production unit. I think the priority should be production.
I hear you, especially when they miss their update timeline (we didnāt get it at the end of last week like they said and, with NAB travel, booth setup, and then the show itself, who knows if theyāll have time this week?). We may have to rely on 3rd parties at the show to update us, which isnāt how we should be getting our info.
That said, NAB booths and travel are bought and paid for far in advance, so I canāt fault them for not knowing when they booked the trip that it would happen this close to the supposed production release and shipping dates.
Same here. I might even be able to fit my Spark in the same case as my Ursa Cine, since the case I bought for that has a fair bit of room to spare that I havenāt put to use yet.
