Does anyone have occasional issues when turning on Spark?

I’ve been very happy with my Spark and have been able to film some great footage. I have run into some regular issues when turning on the Spark. I get a green flicker on the camera monitor and the button on the side does not light up. The only fix is to repeatedly turn off and on again the camera. Sometimes the issues is resolved after a few attempts. Sometimes as happened this past weekend, I had to wait close to ten minutes before it turned on without any issue.

The result was I missed a few events. Not a problem this time as it was not a paying gig.

I haven’t reported this until now as I had hoped it was so irregular that it wasn’t a thing. Sadly it occurs often enough I am now concerned if it’s a software bug or just my own camera having an issue.

Any one else?

To put it into perspective this was my scenario. I filmed a stampede/rodeo event. I generally keep the camera running and press record when I wish to film something. When a long period occurs between events, I turn the camera off. One proceedings started again, I turned the camera on and repeatedly got the flickering green image on the monitor. It took multiple attempts to get the camera to start properly.

Hi Mike,

thanks for flagging this! This is the first time we’ve heard of this issue. Could you send a video of the green flicker to service@pixboom.com? Our engineers will look into it and follow up with you directly.
