Hi Lee,
Of course! Here are the specific details you asked about:
Hope this clarifies things for you!![]()
Will your RAW to DNG software also be compatible with Apple Mac M1 laptops and computers?
Both macOS and Windows are supported. Macs with the M1 chip work fine (no issues).
That’s great news!
Do we get your software for free with the camera?
Of course, it’s free! ![]()

H Young, thank you for your active participation on this platform I’m really excited about the prospect of owning this camera! One area of concern I have would be the workflow.
I bought a Kinefinity Kinemini 4K camera around 2015 which also has its own proprietary internal raw which at the time was only supported by their app which could be used to convert the files over to a number of prores flavours as well as DNG’s or something similar.
The question I have is, what are your plans for implementing your raw format into NLE’s and software like Davinci Resolve etc?
With Kinefinity a colleague of mine helped to get Kinefinity and Assimilate talking with the result that Assimilate Scratch natively supports Kinefinity RAW without the need for an intermediate codec. In turn Assimilate offers 50% off their Scratch licenses if you own a Kinefinity camera - pretty cool.
Would you be open to something similar? Would you like me to try and get you in touch with each other?
I’m aware that this could be a little pre-emptive, but it would make the workflow for this camera much more attractive for me and many others if it were supported directly in something like Scratch or Resolve.
This is indeed a valuable consideration that would greatly simplify the workflow for creators. Currently, the most mainstream tools are DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro—if integration with either of these is possible, it would be ideal.
So the RAW clips that you shared in the gallery are not actually the files that the camera records? It needs to be converted to the CinemaDNGs (like whats available for download) first?
Thanks for clarifying!
Thank you for your question about the RAW clips in the gallery. To clarify:
The RAW clips shared in the gallery have been converted to CinemaDNG format for easier access and processing. The camera actually records in a 10-bit format internally.
To make these files more accessible, we use our free software, Pixboom Cine, to convert them into CinemaDNG. This conversion is lossless, meaning no data is altered or lost in the process. CinemaDNG is a 16-bit standard format, which is widely supported in professional video editing software. The conversion from 10-bit to 16-bit is merely a change in how the data is stored, without affecting the original information.
So there is no benefit of changing iso, white balance, tint etc in your software over Resolve ?
In the current Pixboom Cine software, since the output is CinemaDNG format, adjusting parameters like EI, white balance, and tint only changes the metadata recorded in the CinemaDNG file without altering the image data itself. This means that when you use such CinemaDNG files in DaVinci Resolve, you can still adjust EI, white balance, tint, and other parameters as needed.
