That it is a bad phenomenon, because we are still waiting. Maybe someone gets a camera over the line. If it is true, then it should be condemned.

This is just one of several posts from different vendors that I’ve stumbled upon, there was a post from guy from one of the Nordic Countries who stated that he purchased his from a vendor there, no kickstarter support/prepayment.
I want PixBoom to be a successful company, I want them to prosper and grow. But we showed them real loyalty, real financial support prepaying $8K+ for the camera, extra drives, lens mounts for our place in line as early adopters - taking real financial risk- only to get passed up while we wait. That makes me absolutely furious.
I was an early adopter of the Canon XL1, Optex converted Fujinon manual zooms in 1998, put a deposit down on a Red One in Vegas in 2006 then got it in fall 2007, put a deposit down on a 4K Flex in April 2013, etc. I have long term relationships with dozens of Film/Digital/AKS/Tech companies and I’ve never once had this happen. It’s deeply frustrating and massively disappointing.
I’ve never complained once about the missed deadlines, production problems, etc. I’ve been through this a dozens times, I understand these things and have appreciated the communication/email updates. I don’t appreciate having my enthusiasm and loyalty repaid with this dishonest act.

PS, I don’t blame the vendors one bit. Not their fault, Hot Rod Camera is a great place to shop btw, Ilya knows gear inside and out.
This kind of behavior is deeply frustrating and an expression of disrespect towards us who believed and supported. Is it possible when the first 200 cameras have literally not even been delivered that some dealers already have cameras for sale.

It’s truly unbelievable, I don’t understand why they would do something that would jeopardize their relationship with their own early adopters like this, it’s insane behavior to me.
I appreciate that very much and I support you as an early adopter as well. This should be a happy time, but the vibes just aren’t there for me now. Hell, I even went out and purchased a couple of outstanding Fujinon zooms (the 20mm-120m/85mm-300mm) for this camera and was looking at a cine lifter and a freefly tero adjacent platform to use with this camera. The high speed robots will come when I build a new creative space on my land in the next year or so.
This whole ordeal takes away some of the shine but if anyone asks what camera I’m using, I’ll just gloss over it, I’ll just move forward without mentioning the camera by name…

They are not receiving the cameras ahead of you. No one is jumping the line.
Every backer who supported us from the beginning remains our top priority, and fulfillment is being handled in order. We would never compromise the trust you’ve placed in us — it’s what keeps us going.

I suspected this may have been the case, everybody just assuming they got one without being a backer, but how did any of you know that? If they were backers, then there is no issue here

I’m not assuming a god damn thing. I’ve got information contrary to their post above, but I’m waiting to see if they follow through with delivering my camera within the next two-three weeks max since my number is up. If I don’t get my e-mail and delivery in that time, then I will be taking other steps and when that happens, I won’t be sharing any other information for obvious legal reasons.
