Hello Pixboomers,
Update time — it’s been a few weeks, and there’s quite a bit to share.
Where we are with shipping
We’ve now shipped through backer #240. A small number of backers in countries that require specific local certifications are still waiting — we haven’t forgotten you, we’re actively working through those.
The next batch is coming. We expect to start reaching out to the next group in early August, with around 120 units in that wave. And I want to say this clearly: our goal is to have all remaining orders fulfilled by September. That’s what we’re working toward.
I know some of you are wondering why there’s still a gap between batches. The honest answer is — we haven’t stopped. But once the first units started arriving in people’s hands, we made a deliberate call to slow production slightly so we could actually listen. Gather the real-world feedback. Work through the issues being reported. Fix things properly before the next wave goes out.
It’s not the fastest way to do this. But we think it’s the right way.
To everyone who’s already received their Spark and taken the time to write in, flag something, share footage, or just say hello — thank you. More than you know.
12G SDI is live
This one took a while, but it’s here. 12G SDI is now available — head to pixboom.com/downloads to grab the latest firmware.
But 12G SDI isn’t the only thing in this update. We’ve also put a lot of work into interaction-level improvements across the board. If you haven’t updated your Spark yet — please do. It’s a noticeably smoother experience.
With that done, we’re now pushing remote control up the priority list as the next major feature. And beyond that, software optimisation continues — there’s more coming, so stay tuned.
Two people I want you to meet
We’re growing — and I want to introduce two team members who’ll be showing up in this community more regularly:
@MurrayYin is our Software Product Manager. He’ll be posting updates and gathering your feedback directly — so if you have thoughts on the software experience, he’s the right person to talk to. Don’t be shy.
@LucasJO is our Hardware Product Lead. Future product upgrades, accessories, hardware questions — that’s his world. If you’ve got ideas or requests, bring them to him.
I’ve always wanted this community to feel like a real conversation, not just a broadcast. Having them here is part of making that happen.
If your Spark has an issue
Please don’t worry, and please don’t sit on it. We’ve put together a form so you can tell us exactly what’s going on — it helps us track and follow up with you much faster than back-and-forth messages:
My account | PIXBOOM Spark | High-Speed Camera for Slow-Mo
We’re on it.
I know we still have a lot to improve. We know it — and that’s exactly why we keep going. We’re not done, and we’re not pretending to be.
Thank you for being here. ![]()
