I am thinking of ordering the Spark preorder. I wanted to know what timeline is for shipping of the preorder batch. I want to start planning projects around the camera but don’t want to to plan a project and not have the camera in January or February
Also, i saw that US destinations have tariffs built in to the order. does that also apply to orders place now or just the kickstarter?

If you place an order now, the current estimate is that your unit will ship from China around February. For US destinations, tariffs are already included in the shipping cost.
That said, if you need a very precise shipping date, we’re not able to guarantee it 100% at the moment. Please keep an eye on our community—our latest updates will be posted by the end of December.

Do you mind me asking how you guys are shipping units to the US, and covering the import taxes yourself?
If I ordered a unit to the UK, I’m assuming I’d be paying the import tariff / VAT when it goes through customs?
Do you have a page somewhere where all this is outlined?

Yes, you are correct. The total cost in your case would be Super Early Bird Package USD $7,999 + $100 shipping fee to Portugal (Shipping fees include shipping, customs, and taxes). That comes to a total of USD $8,099.
So at least for Super Early Birds things are sorted!

January is still the stated target, and there’s no confirmed delay so far. Hopefully the next update will clarify things, as maintaining the announced timeline is important to preserve confidence in the work that has been done so far.
As a betting man, I think the delivery times may slip into February or March. Just my hunch.
@hackananda did you read the new update? It looks like nothing will be released before March. My guess was right. With that being said, it’s normal for KS delivery times to be pushed back. Even Phillip Bloom mentioned this I think in his video.
I have no idea how that’s possible. I work with a company selling camera products all over the world, and import fees for customers are a nightmare at the moment.

Yeah, I’m curious how they’re covering the import fees and tariffs. Hence, why I haven’t pledged and possibly waiting for a used one to sell later this year in USA.
