Hi Everyone,
Mutiny has just listed their small bolt on R/S button now configured to use the Sparks EXT natively… They also have a version of this for 3 pin Fischer ports like on their Power IO.
This little button is perfect if you want to add a R/S control near a side handle or if you just need a off camera trigger for Run / Stop and don’t want the bulk of other options.
Their button uses a 3.5mm to 9 pin rotatable lemo and if you need a longer cable, just grab a 3.5mm headphone extension with cables up to 250ft to extend its reach!
You can find the R/S button for Spark here : BOLT-ON R/S Button FOR PIXBOOM SPARK - MUTINY
I have already ordered one for myself and as soon as it arrives I will test it out and give some feedback here, However just as the Power IO is working perfectly for me. I would bet this will too.

Thanks - this looks a good solution until pixboom makes an App that would let remote trigger.
But again… wow they manage to sell these cables for really crazy prises for what they are

I agree with you sometimes cinema grade AKS is on the expensive side however with stuff like this, there is a real cost to things like that 9 pin rotatable lemo… I don’t know what their cost is on that connector but those are not cheap, as in likely 25% of his selling price…
Then you have the invisible cost of just knowing how to do it.
There is an old saying for surveyors - “You’re not paying for the stake. You’re paying for knowing where to put the stake.”
Personally having a professional small batch cable that works the first time is worth a little premium to me, especially when no other third part company has options ready to ship right now.
Just my two cents.

I made my own custom cable to a mini led rocker switch on my “other” slomo camera. I film loud things outdoors and sometimes I didn’t realize I never actually hit the record button, so the tactile rocker helps me know for sure I am recording, I hope I can make one for the pixboom as well.

I got my Mutiny button in today, it has a nice and loud press and click to the button :-)

I don’t think the mutiny push button will be heard over the roaring sound of a F/A-18E fighter jet afterburner over my head haha.
No, but likely you will feel the click… I do like your toggle idea, I am just commenting on what the mutiny is like.
The nice part about the mutiny one is that it’s very small and can fit anywhere you want. The rocker I have to cut a piece of L aluminum, then slowly create a perfect rectangular hole to fit the rocker switch, and mount that somewhere on the rig
