Is it possible for the Pixboom be around $4000? That’s really affordable for content creators. It could really disrupt the market if launched at this price point.
Holy cow, that price tag is crazy…
I really hope that Pixboom can disrupt the market and make it $4000 somehow even if it means cutting certain features or io’s. It will sell like hotcakes!
This seems like Sony’s FX9-FX6-FX3 series, where the removal of features creates a tiered pricing structure. From the timeline, the FX9 was released first.
Right now, the Chronos 4K12 is around $15,000, so even pricing the camera at $10,000 would be more attainable—but I still feel like that price is out of reach for many content creators. If you look at the Freefly Wave, which has much lower quality, you can find it used in good condition now for around $4,000 to $4,500. So I feel they should price it around that range to undercut not just the Freefly Ember and Chronos 4K12, but also the Chronos 2.1 and the used Freefly Wave market.
I’m all for them brainstorming ideas with the Pixboom comminity to get it down to that price so that more people can buy it.
Oh, if only Pixboom could be that price! While it’s higher than $4000, considering its features and performance, it’s still a steal compared to the competition. It’s like getting a luxury sports car for the price of a sedan!
Looking forward to seeing what the price will be! I’ll hold off buying more gear for now to see what the final cost is. I hope it stays below $6000 if $4000 is too low.
Just saw that the new Wave is going for $7,995. With all the awesome stuff Spark has shown off so far (like the sensor, interface, and body design), it’s already way ahead of the Wave. So I think it makes sense for it to be priced quite a bit higher than the Wave (but pretty please, not too high! giggles)
I’ve seen some used Waves go for $4000 to $4500. The Chronos 4K12 is around $16,000. I just hope the price can stay in the four digit range at this point. If not $4000, mabye $6000, but I’m just a dreamer. lol I just feel if they are aiming at the content creator market who buys a high range mirrorless camera for around the $3500, the price shouldn’t be too much higher than that. But they hinted it will be more than $4000, so I’m just hoping it’s not too much higher than that.
The Chronos 4K12 has an M43 sensor, while the Spark uses a larger S35 sensor. Since the sensor is a big part of a camera’s cost and its price goes up non-linearly with size…
Will see! Maybe they will surprise us and sell for $6000.
