Pixboom Pro card case

Since the media is removable, do the cards come with production-quality cases they can be stored in when not in the camera? Even something basic like a zippered EVA-shelled case (like what you can get for portable hard drives or point and shoot cameras) or a plastic snap-case would be nice.

Hey, that’s a great question. The card will come inside a beautifully designed box with the main unit—we put as much thought into the packaging as the device itself, so we hope you’ll love the unboxing experience!

But your point about a separate case is really interesting, especially since we also have to think about shipping the cards by themselves. You’ve given us something to consider: how we might combine the packaging with a reusable storage solution. If we can’t find a good way to do that, maybe a dedicated storage case is something we should offer as an accessory? It’s a fun idea!

Here are a couple examples of cases that have proven their worth on tens of thousands of sets across the world.

They’re cheap, functional designs that I can toss in a pocket or bag and not have to worry about damaging the media or getting dirt and dust in the contacts.

Or Nanuk, they make excellent cases for camera and related gear as well.

I know I’ll probably end up designing a 3d printable for my cards once they arrive so once they start delivering cameras I’ll have to remember to share the stl file here

I’m looking forward to seeing this custom case! It sounds like it could be a really creative solution.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I do love my Nanuk cases. I think, however, even their smallest “basic” case is still oversized and overengineered to serve as a standard card case.

I definitely see a scenario where the Nanuk cases would be preferable, such as if shooting nature type stuff in more adverse climates where you’d want more weather sealed enclosures and the tradeoff in increased case bulk is worth the weatherproofing.

Thanks for drawing my attention to the smaller cases Nanuk offers. I have a bunch of their larger cases, but never realized they made smaller, clamshell types as well.

I didn’t know about the smaller Nanuk cases until recently myself; I discovered them after poking around on the Nanuk web site while picking out the case for my Black Magic cinema camera
