Majority of serious content creators are using Sony and we do own lots of sony FE lenses that obviously require electronics to control the focus.
If this camera would use those lenses I’m sure you would attract not only me but lots and lots of other content creators.
I don’t care about Autofocus, but having an ability to focus Sony FE glass would be killing move for the industry.

i think Sony has some restrictions on Emount outside of their cameras. You can do a “dead” mount like Ember did but non of the modern lenses work on that as they need power and Sony doesnt allow that for 3rd party brands. even tho i have mostly E lenses i would prefere if they went with canon RF so the lenses would actually work.
on my ember i have PL lenses and one Laowa 9mm (mechanical) for FPV stuff
Yeah the dead E mount has good for adapting but means all sony glass is not helpful and actually put us in a tough spot trying to find a way short notice on how to do a crazy long lens shot due to options. Also a hard mount PL mount I think is very important for any macro capabilties.
The electronic power supply for the E-mount is indeed a challenging topic, and it goes beyond just technical aspects. That said, Spark is working hard to bring you an exciting surprise—stay tuned!
