Spark Community Update — Back from NAB, Labour Day, and First Shipments

I don’t know that they’re really doing batches/phases at this point. It sounds more like continuous production and units will ship out as they complete. The only “batch” would likely be the 58 units we see pictured plus however many else they finish up in the meantime (they projected ~10-15 units per day initially, but my math puts it closer to averaging 6 per day if 300 is their end of June number) while they wait for the last bits to come in so they can start shipping.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you. Since I’m Baker No. 56, I hope you’re right

They are baking them as fast as they can for you  … Sorry little Baker Joke There.

Haha shit, there was a mistake I did not see
Since you have “Swiss” in your nickname, do you understand german?

I will also note that if they are producing 6 per day, that makes 42 more units by the time the 15th rolls around (7 more work days), for a total of 100 cameras which lines up with the first 100 or so cameras getting a Pelican-style case since the real packaging won’t be ready in time for the first “batch.”

How many units are in the first batch shipping between may 15 and may 22nd?

Nope, however my family has some German descent, Born and raised in the Carolina’s and now live in NY…  The Swiss Army Cinema comes from years ago, I was on a Marvel set and my crew lead was introducing me to another guy as the Swiss Army Knife of Film Sets… Since I have many uses, none of them perfect but I get the job done. My speciality’s are DP and Heavy Lift Drone Pilot.

DP wise, I do a-lot of remote DOCU work in foreign countries and have alot of experience with theme park video production but I never turn down work here in the USA, I take whatever comes my way.

For aerials i’ve been in that game for nearly 20 years now building custom systems for bespoke clients. The largest system so far I have helped develop and fly is about 220 lbs, nearly 8ft wide carrying an impressive but very unique camera system.

You name it i’ve probably done it on a set at some point.

Looking forward to using my Spark on a few upcoming projects here in the states and abroad this year.

Oh that sounds nice, cool story! Seems like you get around the whole world, huh?

Was just thinking, I’ll found a future pixboom user speaking my language

Entschuldigung, ich wünschte, ich würde Deutsch sprechen,
damit wir eine Unterhaltung vor der Kamera in unserer Muttersprache führen könnten.

That is so sweet of you — and honestly, it means more than you know! :face_holding_back_tears:

We can’t believe you actually read through all of it — the lost phone, the emergency landing in Hawaii… it’s been quite the adventure!  Next time I’m hoping for a much smoother journey to Cine Gear — though knowing us, there might still be a fun story or two along the way, and we’ll be sure to share it!

And yes — we checked your backer number, and you are absolutely in the first batch! :tada: Hang tight, it’s almost time!:heart_hands:

Oh no — a flat tire AND this news on the same day?! The universe really had it out for you today

We are genuinely so sorry you’re going to miss the Red Bull shoot on May 19th — that one stings, and we totally get it. But we promise, the camera is almost on its way, and when it does arrive, Red Bull won’t know what hit them. :cow::collision:

Thank you for being so understanding — seriously, backers like you are the reason we keep pushing. Flat tires and all.:heart_hands:

BIG THANKS for not be the kind of company that says “stay tunned” …

Very transparent and honest updates! Patiently waiting my camera now

What an amazing and elaborate update! Amongst all things, one thing I can recognize is you all are doing the best you all can do and I can’t ask for any more than that!

I’m backer #21 so I think I see me in there!:face_holding_back_tears:

I sent an email right after this. Just wondering if it was received? I didn’t get a reply.

I know you guys must be swamped. Just hoping my email about change of delivery address didn’t get lost in the system

Hey! I’m Eugenio, Content Production Manager at FIFA for the World Cup 2026. The Spark ignited a few ideas over here, and I would love to get in contact with you all to see if we can utilize this camera for our content during the World Cup this summer.

I’m going to have that camera and i’ve been shooting sports for the past 25 years. Feel free to contact me. I would be pleased to shoot images for the FIFA! I’m based in Canada but a flight ticket is much cheaper than a new camera  dom@cubikcreation.ca

I am here to confirm I received an address change response to my email and to also annoyingly state: May 15th is 3 days away and May 22nd is 10 days away. I assume we’ll receive mass address confirmation emails in the next day or two…? Eh?
