Yeah I sent them an email to which they replied last night and that’s exactly what they said. They told me that they’re shipping one asap to me. So hopefully tonight I get a tracking number. I did get a chance to use the camera yesterday filming my kids jumping in the pool and throwing a bucket of water at my oldest son (some mandatory tests hahaha) and I have to say that I’m completely pleased with the camera and the workflow afterwards, really straight forward and real simple. I just can’t wait to have that cage because I do a lot of run and gun stuff and carrying the camera without an handle doesn’t feel safe to me. I can definitely work with tripods for now but that will definitely feel safer. So yeah, it was a long wait, almost an entire year but in the end it was soooo worth it!
So I just ran a test filming against a white slate, completely dust free!!!
Sorry for everyone who are dealing with this issue but I have to admit, pretty stoked that I don’t have to deal with this.
Great news, glad to hear!
Hope you got your camera by now.. ?
The camera arrived on August 25, but I’m on vacation, so I postponed the DHL delivery to September 14. So I’ll pick it up then.
Any updates coming on shipments?
It’s almost 30 days since your last update, where you announced that backers up to #340 would ship by the end of August. Can you confirm what the current position is here, please ?
We are now entering the second week of September 2026, and the remaining 100-plus backers have been met with relative silence. Surely, Pixboom needs to be transparent and give us regular progress reports more than you are currently offering, as the burden of requesting updates should never fall on the customers who funded this project ?
A year down the line, filled with ongoing delays many of us have little confidence as to when we will actually receive our cameras. What is questionable is how inventory is currently being distributed. I would suggest it’s unlikely that only three hundred-odd units have been manufactured since early May, but I am happy to be corrected and would welcome an answer here ?
Pixboom claims that global distributors are not being prioritised over backers, suggesting these vendors were early backers themselves or part of an early pre-sale agreement. However, the on-the-ground facts from reaching out to several of these parties don’t all tell the same story. While many of the ten-plus global vendors surfacing online are waiting for stock (or a second batch in some cases), queue-jumping is clearly happening, in my opinion. For instance, I was recently invoiced for a Spark camera by a prominent reseller confirming the item was in stock and promising immediate delivery.
If retail channels are successfully securing physical units under “prior agreements” while backers are stalled, the actual priority given to backers is currently little. Whatever the case, there is clearly a serious bottleneck between backers and resellers which Pixboom needs to sort out.
The reality is, Pixboom’s announced delivery dates mean little because you rarely stick to them, having already instituted five separate delays since January. In June, my shipment was delayed again and rescheduled for the “August delivery window,” as my order number is in the late 300s. However, Pixboom’s recent reply email to me used the upcoming October Chinese holidays as a preemptive excuse to potentially stall delivery further into late October and beyond.
Regardless of the Kickstarter queue, all backers I recall pledged and paid within a month of each other. It would seem unreasonable that, given Pixboom’s ongoing delays, some backers may well only receive their cameras four to five months after others, especially with some of the earlier folks not even having a queue number.
It was exactly a year ago at IBC 2025 that the Spark camera was launched and many of us got to hear about it. As the industry gathers for another IBC trade show this week, Pixboom is evidently using our interest-free capital to attend further trade shows, as they have done all year, which leads to more retail outlets being supplied. Great for Pixboom, but this leaves many backers still empty-handed.
Needless to say, I echo the frustration and disappointment many backers have expressed on this community forum. I urge Pixboom to do the right, honest thing: put your quick financial incentives aside and prioritise the people who in good faith made your camera possible.
Hi there,
We’ll have a full update out today.
One thing we do want to clear up: the KS campaign doesn’t actually fund our operations. We’re backed by external investors, not backer pledges. And the KS pricing has zero margin in it — so there’s really no money from backers going toward trade shows or anything like that. Just wanted to set the record straight on that one.
More coming later today.
Yes! We’ll be posting a full update later today.
Thank you!
