Everything is progressing smoothly on our end. We have essentially completed the assembly phase and are currently awaiting the final certificate from TÜV Rheinland, along with the approved certification label — both of which are required before we can proceed with shipping.
We are on track for our May shipment and will share a proper update with the community as soon as the certification is confirmed.
Thanks so much for your patience — we truly appreciate the support!
Since your backing was processed via wire transfer outside of Kickstarter, our support team would be best placed to look into your specific order and confirm your batch status properly.
We’d recommend sending an email directly to our support@pixboom.com with your wire transfer details as reference — that way the team can trace your order accurately and give you a definitive answer based on the original records.
We hope to get this sorted for you as soon as possible!
Ha, Adam — honestly, we think being on the other side of the planet just means you’ve had extra time to build up the excitement!
But in all seriousness — it’s backers like you who believed in us from day one that made all of this possible. We genuinely would not be here without that trust, and we do not take it lightly for a single second.
The wait will be worth it, we promise.
Can’t wait for your Spark to finally land in Australia — shout us when it does!
I am a little confused with your mini update today. I am hoping to get a little clarification.
This thread started with a update saying " The TÜV Rheinland testing process is now fully complete, **and all tests have passed. "
and Today your saying the Spark is " currently awaiting the final certificate from TÜV Rheinland, along with the approved certification label "
Maybe this is me not understanding the process, Does this Mean: The Spark did indeed pass all TUV testing however there was still a process remaining of getting the physical labels made and certificate in your hands and this is what your actually waiting on currently.
Also, What is the status of the CE & FCC certification process?
Thanks for the clarification. Seeing all those spark bodies on a pallet @ IG warms my little heart. Keep making the future over there!
How many units were in this “assembly phase”? Appreciate the efforts, but your updates are very confusing.
From “TÜV Rheinland Certification — Passed” to “currently awaiting the final certificate from TÜV”
You also mentioned: “May through June: approximately 300 units shipped out progressively” Why does it take 1 to 2 months to ship 300 units? that assuming they are already assembled?
NAB interview said Shipping “May 1st” - which also does not align…
Would love some extra clarity. I’m sure many professionals keep trying to plan around deliveries and we all understand it’s a kickstarter and delays are expected. But a bit more upfront comunicaton would be nice.
Cheers for going through all the struggles behind the scenes!
Thank you for asking. Let us break it down properly:
On the TÜV Rheinland certification:
Passing the certification test and receiving the official final certificate are actually two separate steps. We have passed the testing — but after that, there is a standard process to formally apply for the certified logo, which typically takes around 7 business days. We are currently in that window. Alongside this, we are also processing the FCC and CE compliance logos at the same time to keep things moving in parallel.
On why 300 units takes 1–2 months:
Since Spark is a new product, the factory doesn’t produce all units in one go. The daily output is roughly 10–15 units, and each one goes through quality checks — any unit that doesn’t meet our standards gets pulled from the batch. So the timeline reflects careful, progressive production rather than a warehouse sitting full of finished units waiting to ship.
On the “May 1st” shipping date:
We should have been clearer here — May 1st referred to the factory completing assembly, not the shipping date to backers. Before we can ship, the compliance logos (including TÜV Rheinland) need to be finalized and printed in the user manual. We won’t ship until everything is fully compliant.
We genuinely appreciate your patience and the way you framed this feedback — it helps us communicate better with the whole community.
You’ve got it exactly right — and that’s a great way to put it!
Passing the TÜV Rheinland testing and receiving the official certified label are indeed two separate steps. We have passed all the testing — but after that, there is a formal process to register and apply for the official compliance logo, which typically takes around 7 business days. That’s exactly where we are right now.
The good news is that FCC and CE certifications are all moving forward in parallel at the same time, so we’re not waiting on one before starting the next.
And yes — that pallet of Spark bodies warms our hearts too! We’re so close now.
Thank you for taking the time to understand the process and for the kind words — it genuinely means a lot to the whole team.
It would seem the May 1st statement wasn’t ment as the shipping date for some, since the original date they had said at the beginning of this thread was May 5th for possibly shipping… However that all assumes they get the logo stamps and the factory is back from holiday.
I would be curious to know how many A+ ready to go units they might be sending out on that first shipment out.
It’s looking good though guys, some of us might actually get to film with this thing in MAY lol … There is a race happening in a few weeks and the team wants me to film the pit crew.
At NAB they were telling people that shipping would at least begin on May 1st, so hopefully the first few will be ready to go by then, with the Kickstarter backer packages shipping in reasonably short order!
I would love that however I just don’t see May 1st being a possibility….. As they mentioned before “China’s Labour Day holiday runs May 1st through May 5th, during which DHL operations within China are suspended.”
I was also there at NAB, wish we could have met up! … Maybe I will see you at CineGear if you come out for that.
If I got my early # unit in my hands by Mid May I will be extremely happy. We shall see, it really seems out of pixbooms hands at the moment and more up to the certificate body that needs to issue stamps.
@admin, thanks for keeping us clued into the details.
Sorry to be this guy… I am starting on a rodeo doc in early June. I’d love to purchase now, but if I cannot guarantee it would arrive on time, I might be tempted to wait a bit, even though the price is going up. Is there a way to know if it would arrive before June 10th?
If you haven’t ordered yet, there’s probably zero chance to get it by June 10th. They’ll still be shipping Kickstarter units (1-2 months to ship all those) and then they likely have post-Kickstarter preorders to fill after that.
I have a question regarding the shipping and delivery process.
Shipping is expected to start from May 5, and I will be away for about two weeks during that period.
Could you please clarify:
Will the package be delivered as a personal shipment that requires a signature upon delivery?
How far in advance will we be notified before the shipment is sent or delivered?
I’m asking because in Switzerland, packages are typically held for only 7 days, so I would need to organize someone to receive it if I’m not available.
They would be able to tell you for sure once cameras start shipping, however maybe to help you get a little prospective till that arrives, what is you backer #. Since cameras will likely be shipping in those orders.
From what we have been told so far, they have the very first batch ready however they are waiting on some final certification stamps before they can ship and that these couldn’t ship till after May 5th anyway due to a national holiday. I would guess they have a limited run of first cameras leaving the door, meaning less than 100 (This is just my own guess from what they have said) and then a production rate of between 10-15 per day sent out in waves till the Backer orders are finished and I believe it was over 500-600.
So based on your Backer # you should be able to start guesstimating when it could arrive. I believe they ship via DHL, and I would imagine there would be tracking info on that package.
However my advice is to have a plan in place for someone to receive it regardless, if it comes when your away PERFECT, if it does not then it will be just a little while longer before that sweet camera is in your hands.
I am a 252 supporter and I believe that it will be the beginning of June. And in that month I have a vacation, so I have to organize someone to pick it up for me.
