Thank you for your interest! Your work is truly stunning, and we all admire it! Yes, the Spark supports electronic lenses, including manual focus and aperture adjustment. As you mentioned, autofocus is not particularly meaningful in high-speed imaging since lens motors cannot keep up with the camera’s frame rate. Regarding the issue you raised about STM lenses needing a focus “reset,” we haven’t specifically looked into this before—it’s an intriguing point, and we will conduct tests to investigate further.
I know continuous autofocus would maybe be too much but what about single point autofocus to quickly acquire focus on our subject before shooting?
Btw is the touchscreen daylight viewable in strong outdoor sunny conditions like around 1800 nits and anti-reflective?
Also, I see in the slowmo gallery, all the shots are at iso 400. Are there any samples you can show at iso 1600?
Hello! How can I contact your team, I’m in Beijing now, really excited to see this high-speed camera, and want to test more pure performance of this camera, then to make the decision that buy or not. Can I get the chance, like WeChat or some stuff?
Can I get the 9pin Accessory pinout please!
Hello! Thank you for your interest! Once we upload the RAW files, you can download them to experience the camera’s performance.
Do you have dimensional drawings available? I would like to design some AKS for the Spark.
Cool! We’ll be sharing 3D drawings of Spark’s design sometime after the launch—exciting, right?
Plus, we’re already working with accessory manufacturers to create fun stuff like cages and handles for Spark! Do you have any cool ideas or special accessories you’d love to see? Let us know! ![]()
Hello team, do you have any information you can share with regards to the 9 pin EXT port like a pin out document or further info on what the port can provide? For us being able to remotely trigger and also gain frame sync from the camera for use on our robots is of particular interest.
And the sync port, will that be send frame sync info that matches the selected camera frame rate, or is this a GENLOCK port?
Also, any plans with the existing hardware to enable remotely accessing the camera via some sort of tether (10GB ethernet?) for high speed downloading of footage off the camera? Thanks in advance, Tom
Hey, I never got any pre-launch secret perk link. When is this going to happen?
Sounds great. If needed I’ll sign an NDA.
Hello,
Happy to help. We can resend that for you.
Could you please provide the email address associated with your deposit?
Worried with the amount of backers I’ve already purchased it without the link… How can I discuss it with someone from the company not here in the public chat?
I’d like a Peli Case or something like that to transport the body without worrying about anything, Also a Smallrig Cage (but you already mentioned it) and maybe a glass protection for the display.
Hi there,
Just wanted to follow up. I believe our founder Young has already sent you a direct message here with more details.
Could you please take a look when you have a moment?
Thanks!
@Young @admin Hey team is the touchscreen on the Spark daylight visible outdoors? What is the nits rating? 1000 nits?
Yes, you are right!
interesting. When I transcoded it in FCPX with my 3rd party transcoder, at first it was clipped but I just changed the color space (i forgot which) and then it was beautiful.
Is there a way to trigger the camera with an external source, like a LOW/HIGH 0/5v signal ?
I would like that too !
Hey! Will there be an option to save some settings? On my Sony a7s3 I have 3 options on the mode dial, where I can save some settings like 1: “4K100p, S-LOG3, ISO 800, F2.8” and on 2: “FullHD 25p, Natural, ISO 200, F4” and so on, to quickly change modes without adjusting all the settings separately?
