I shoulda said Phantom or other, like the Venice2 but my point was really that it’s not so easy to make it work perfectly and it is a choice to achieve a larger sensor and/or save money on the most expensive component. Hopefully, if and when this little Spark reaches us, it’s fully sorted. I’m rooting for the Pixboom team bigtime - they’ve taken on a project we all appreciate to be core - just wish they’d share more of the nitty gritty more regularly. That’s really all we expect as backers, at least this one.
yeah I’m in the same boat as well, I think I’m backer #257. I’ve even pitched ideas to clients for content using this camera but the goalposts keep moving.
I’m somewhere in the 260’s, and my colleagues keep laughing at me because their joke since January is that I won’t get the camera until Christmas lmao Hopefully that doesn’t happen considering the shipping finish line keeps disappointingly getting pushed further and further. But I guess we’ll see!
Hey there, thanks a lot for the update and the additional information. When I read “200 and up,” can I assume—since I’m number 202 (Europe)—that the camera will arrive by the end of June and that I’ll soon receive the confirmation email with the final status update?
Thank you so much for all your hard work, and keep it up. Unfortunately, developing new, innovative cameras is never easy right up until the final release—especially when you’re not a big corporation. So I fully understand the challenges, and keep up the great work.
I’m really looking forward to my Pixboom ![]()
#109 here… No emails yet - If they are planning to ship next Monday, then this makes no sense…
Did you get an email yet?
Confirmation emails will begin going out tomorrow and will be sent out in batches. You’ll receive yours shortly — please hang tight and we appreciate your support! ![]()
I am 215 and was told that I won’t receive the camera until next month.
"To clarify, the 120–150 units mentioned are not being shipped all at once as a single batch. Each camera still needs to go through mount pairing, individual testing, and final QC verification before dispatch. This step is necessary to ensure stability and proper calibration for every unit.
You are Backer 215, so your unit is positioned in a later allocation within this current wave. Based on the current production and testing flow, your shipment is most likely scheduled for next month rather than this week’s batch."
The community update made it sound like they would send out 120-150 cameras next week but it sounds like a much more gradual process. Hang in there - I won’t get my hopes up to receive it any time soon :-/
Hi there,
To give you a more accurate picture: the cameras will be transported from our factory in Shenzhen to our Hong Kong warehouse around June 20th. Once all the export procedures and customs clearance are completed, we expect shipments to go out around June 28th–29th. Given that you’re in Europe, the realistic delivery window would likely be early July — we want to be transparent rather than overpromise! ![]()
Your confirmation email will be on its way soon. We really appreciate your patience and support, and we can’t wait for your Pixboom to land at your door! ![]()
Previously I was told I’ll get my camera “In June for sure” - that sounds like impossible based on what you just described?
I’ve been planning my flights around this “june for sure” and even adding extra weeks buffer seems like I’ll still be missing the dates?
Each subsequent explanation extends the delivery period.
The update you’re referring to said the next batch would begin shipping next week, not that the batch would ship all at once.
At this point we can kinda laugh that every week dates get delayed by a week.
But yea I’m crossing all my fingers and toes
I have too much planned and have limited window to pick up this camera ![]()
I mean… you’re a not wrong. But also if those units actually start shipping weeks later they shouldn’t be factored into that window. The proper way would be saying: We will ship 50 cameras the week of the 22nd, 50 the following and 50 the following week (e.g first week of July).
Its semantics at this point and I just keep pushing my expectations back. Hopefully I’ll have it in June - well now hopefully I’ll get it in July and not in August or later… onward! :)
Yes, it would be nice if PixBoom provided both an estimated time for beginning to ship the next batch and how many per day would be going out – in theory that number should be ramping up as the process matures, but it would still be better to go with a conservative estimate; if in the first batch five went out per day, then estimate 5 per day… and as the process matures and speeds up, that number should continue to rise.
Hopefully we’re looking at 10-15 per day now, once the cameras come off the assembly line and go through QA. That’s a hope, not a claim so don’t set expectations on that number ![]()
I don’t mind using AI to proof read your responses, but these AI generated sympathetic apologies copy pasted here are insanely lame and cringe btw, just stop
#109 Received address confirmation email.
Based on it seems like extra SSDs might be delayed by another month.
Hello, backer number 163. Should mine be shipping on the 22nd June? I haven’t got the email and need the camera pretty badly now. - UK, e mount but I can make my own if I have too.
Hi there,
The confirmation email will be on its way to you next week.
Great stuff, thank you.
